I have to admit, I have been shopping, on Craigs.list for baby things. I figure we're going to have to buy A LOT of stuff so I might as well space it out so we can afford it all.
So far I have bought:
2 boppy bouncers
a fisher price papasan swing
a pack-n-play
and got two free boppies with those purchases (SCORE)
We are going to start buying diapers the next time we go to Cost.co so we can start stocking up. If those diapers don't work the great thing about Cost.co is that you can return them and get the cash back.
I know I will have a shower and get a lot of things but most things I don't mind buying used and would like to buy them gradually to save on having to spend a lot of money all at once. We also plan to get a gift card to Wal.mart and add $20 to it each time we are there so we can buy things once the babies come and again don't have to spend so much money all at once.

I think the planning thing is a teacher thing :o) I'm also a planner. A ridiculously-in-advance planner in fact! What you're doing sounds totally smart. Happy shopping and I hope you continue to find great deals!!!
PS: I think you're right about this baby in my belly, she seems pretty cozy!
Good that you're getting started so it doesn't get as overwhelming financially or emotionally. Yay for planning.

For newborns, I really like the Pampers Swaddlers (they have a little U-shaped cutout so the diaper doesn't rub up against the umbilical cord). Afterwards, I think it's just a matter of personal preference, and Costco diapers should be just fine.
I know there are those MOthers of Multiple sales, but have you heard of Just Between Friends (JBF sale)? I always sell things there, and it is a GREAT way to pick up all kinds of clothes, toys, books, furniture, gear...I think the next one is in September, so you may be already stocked by then :), but I'll let you know when I see a date!
